Yellow-licious!
Just loving all things yellow for spring! From accessories to shoes, yellow is a perfect accent to spruce up any outfit.
Resort Inspired Look of the Week
Today’s Look of the Week is here! In anticipation of the warm weather, I created my own resort look. Paired with a Tsquared Perfect Fit Tank is Alice + Olivia’s lightweight Eric pant and a Pucci cotton scarf. But the outfit wouldn’t be complete without Marc Jacobs’ Two-Tone Naplak Leather Loafers and a Stefano Patriarchi Golden Silver Etched Cut Out Cuff Bracelet.
Transition From Day to Night.
Sometimes it’s hard to plan what to wear for the evening when the sun is barely up. I don’t know about you but all I can think about in the early morning is where my next cup of coffee is coming from. I love this look because it combines simplicity with a bit of glam. You will be ready for anything when your friends call you for a spontaenous night out. If the Edun Embellished Silk-Georgette Vest is too much to wear during the day, no problem. Put it on when you freshen up for your evening activity. Now shake off the work day and go have some fun! Jami
Be Bold with the Basics.
We can all admit that sometimes on the weekends, we just don’t feel like making the effort. Running around town fresh faced with y0ur favorite baseball hat and Lululemons seems so much more appealing. Until you run into five people you know including the man you have a secret crush on. So before you don the workout clothes, check out this outfit. Each piece has its own bit of flair making you stylish yet functional. Yet at its base is your basic white ts-shirt, jeans and a denim jacket. And platform shoes are the most comfortable shoes one can wear.
Look of the Week: Simple Chic
Turn your favorite Tsquared white t-shirt and jeans up a notch and turn heads with this J.Crew Eden cardigan and Dannijo bib necklace.
Don’t be afraid of statement pieces.
I know “they” always say when packing for a trip, grab solids because they are easier to coordinate. But I subscribe to the opposite and always grab the patterns when I travel. Bigger and bolder I say. Understandably this isn’t easy for some so here are a few colorful ideas to inspire your next weekend getaway. This looks revolves around a blue striped pair of pants. Because of the high waist, you have an opportunity to wear shirts tucked or untucked. And don’t always reach for the solid top. To pair the stripes with another pattern, look for one that is smaller in scale like the orange example. But if I wanted to stay with blue, I could have paired with a strapless blue top with a small floral pattern.
Slouchy Yet Stylish.
The slouchy look can be a bit difficult to pull off. It can result in effortlessly chic or plain old sloppy. Here is how to wear the boyfriend jean and keep you off the shoddy road. The boyfriend jean sits on the waist with back pockets that are low and flattering to the rear. You can buy them really baggy or somewhat fitted. The latter is still loose but should fit as though they are a size bigger than you normally wear. If you are petite or have a boyish figure, the fitted style will highlight your figure without dominating you with denim. The baggier style will actually make you look weighted down and shorter. If you are tall, both styles will look good. The baggier version will is flattering if you are of average height and curvy. The low waist will highlight your curves and not hug your problem areas. Because the boyfriend jean is a bit masculine, you want to pair with a top and/or accessory that brings out your feminine side. Some options include a white button down and a clunky necklace, lightweight fitted top or an off the shoulder blouse. Most shoe styles will fare well here especially open-toed sandals and clogs. If you are a plus-size woman, this look won’t do too much for you. Instead, try boot leg jeans that will give you a longer silhouette and the appearance of lean legs. The slouchy style lends itself to trousers as well. Same rules apply.
