So here we are again… about to start another year of new obsessions, inspirations and smart decisions. I didn’t make any resolutions for this year but I will keep in mind what I learned (and remembered) in 2012. Try and try again. Ask for what you want. The worst they can say is no. I have nothing to prove to anyone except myself. Red lipstick makes me very happy. Socks are underrated. I can’t wear the sky high stilettos of my youth. And I am ok with that. Patterns are infinitely more interesting and flattering over solids. Sample sales are not fun anymore even for my most coveted designers. If someone asks me what I do, personal stylist is not the answer. I hate being put on the spot to answer how they look. Be interesting. Be interested.
It is inevitable that when I walk into my clients’ the first time, I feel overwhelmed and ironically underwhelmed. Let me explain. I have been inside closets, big and small that have had so much in them I didn’t know where to start. And after 8 hours of cleaning, I barely made a dent.

Here are some helpful tips to take care of your wardrobe and image. ★ To retain the shape and memory your shoes, do not wear the same pair ever day. Rotate pairs. ★ If you own vintage, be sure to open your closet doors during the summer. If you don’t, that musty smell you worked so hard to get rid of will be back in full strength.
